As the holidays approach and families gather- there will be much feasting. Followed by a good nap.
A secret to a successful safari includes finding a quiet place to salute the sun and welcome night. At our private camp in the Serengeti it’s rather easy to feel fortunate.
Just as the sun was lowering across the horizon, slowly approaching our camp where only ThorntonSafaris can explore, we were greeted by this beauty. She was focused on her mission and completely unfazed as we admired her grace and elegance. And then, like a spirit, she disappeared into the grass.
Not long after, we met the night owl who seemed a tad sleepy after his late night romp.
While walking with our guests early one morning, we saw that some heavy footed friends stayed out late into the night. Thanks to years of diligent work, building trust, Mark Thornton Safaris is one of the only organizations allowed to provide exclusive walking excursions.
Experiencing another culture may be the best education for explaining what it means to be human. A little girl sings in her village, surrounded by thorn bushes to keep the lions out.
